Benanova Selected for a Match Grant Award

Benanova had received a Match Grant Award under the One NC Small Business Program administered by the North Carolina Board of Science, Technology, and Innovation, a division of the NC Department of Commerce. With support from this award, Benanova will develop cutting-edge COVID-19 research to create functional materials for respiratory personal protection with high filtration efficiency and breathability.

Nationally One NC Small Business Program is one of the first of its kind. It provides state funds to match federal funds awarded through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) programs, which help small companies, develop new innovative technologies and products for commercialization.

Since 2006 the One NC Small Business Program has helped more than 300 companies in North Carolina to bring to market hundreds of deep-tech products and services. Since its inception the program has supported nearly 1000 high paying jobs, attracted millions of external investment, and helped generate hundreds of thousands sales directly from technologies developed with the program funds.
